Surf Magazine and Tote Bag
Jim and Pam currently run a surf shop that has been in their family since the 1970s. The shop is located in Torquay on Victoria’s Surf Coast shire, and is close to both the beach and other retail outlets. Their business has focused on selling surf related equipment and products as well as clothing to local community members and tourists or vistors passing through the town. Jim and Pam have always been very passionate about their location and surf community on the surf coast. As a new adventure, they would like to share their local environment, and celebrate what the Victorian surf coast has to offer, including the stunning coastline, Australian bush surrounds and the amazing local surfing sport. They have a vision to design and produce a magazine that celebrates their local surfing community that can be sold in their store. Jim and Pam are also interested in promoting an awareness around environmental issues and giving the women of surfing a voice, and believe a magazine could allow them to do this. They have decided to create a quarterly magazine and have employed my services to decide on a name for the magazine, design the first issue and a bag for it to be included in.
Communication Need 1
My client requires me to design the first issue of their magazine that celebrates surfing, the local environment of Torquay, and social issues in the surf community.
Communication Need 2
My client also requires me to design the packaging for the first issue of the magazine in the form of a reusable bag.
