abstract landscape paintings
watercolour on paper
We begin this project by exploring Melinda Harper’s artwork and her understanding of landscape as she celebrates the bush around Castlemaine. Students look at the abstract way Melinda has used colour as her main strength in developing her artworks.
In the second stage of this project, students use earthenware clay to learn important techniques to shape, mould, join and apply patterns with clay. Students collect a range of research to explore different shaped Wall Planters to create their own shape to make. Students need to consider the size for a plant, how to join the components carefully and how to apply a decorative design using Melinda Harper as inspiration.
