The ‘organised bike bench’ is created to accommodate for bikes as well as a place for people to take a seat. The organised system focuses on storing bikes for students of Ivanhoe Grammar as well providing a spot for them to take a seat, resolving another problem of the limitation to seating. On a global scale, by adding the product to parks and sidewalks, it will help minimise congestion. This could also encourage cycling and there is more spaces for bike user’s to store there bikes as well as having a space to take a break. This product is aimed to decrease scattered bikes and city sidewalks filled with bikes as well as promoting the use of bikes to be used as a form of transport. The organised bike bench is made out of simple but effective materials. Pinewood and screws are used to produce a stable product that is capable of holding up to 3 people. A coat of clear vanish was applied to allow the product to be used outdoors as well as giving the timber a nice shine in the sun.
