 This area of study focuses on the application of the product design process to organise thinking about approaches to solving design problems and presenting ideas. 

Students completed the Product Design Process steps 1 to 10 of the Product Design Process. They applied this process to one of the following of their choice: 

• Coffee Table (Limitations: No larger than 1000mm x 1000mm x 500mm and no more than 3 materials used) 

• A Rack or Hanger (for holding items) 

• A Shelving Unit 

• A Toy 

A design brief was developed to clarify the project task and to define the personal, local or global design problem to be solved. A design brief identify the intended end-user/s, constraints and considerations with reference to product design factors.
